Change your Manchester pallet racking system and you can transform the
profitability of your business. But which racking system will deliver best results for you? Explore your options here.

If it’s a while since you reviewed the pallet racking in your Manchester warehouse, you might be surprised by how your needs have changed. You may need to store a greater range of products of varying sizes. You may need a different way of picking and loading. You may need to ensure products don’t languish at the back of racks.

If you don’t change the racking to meet your warehousing needs, you risk losing efficiency, time and money. But with the right pallet racking installation in Manchester, you can boost productivity and profits.

Rack-Master can help you choose the right pallet racking for your Manchester business and your budget, and take you through the entire process from site survey to installation, simply.

Our pallet racking solutions in Manchester include:

Wide Aisle Pallet Racking

2.8M – 3.5M aisles are suitable for a wide range of standard forklift trucks. The natural pallet racking solution when you need to access any pallet at any time. It’s worth noting that ‘wide aisle’ doesn’t have to be very wide at all. Modern articulated forklift trucks can work effectively in aisles as narrow as 1.8M.

Narrow Aisle Pallet Racking

The same level of racking accessibility but in aisles of 1.4M – 1.6M width, accessed using narrow or very narrow aisle trucks. Naturally, reducing aisle widths enables you to achieve a much greater density of pallet racking – enabling you to store more in the same sized space.

Drive-In Pallet Racking

High density ‘first in – last out’ (FI-LO) pallet storage. Ideal if you’re storing large volumes of the same product; less so if you need to regularly access pallets at the back of the racks.

Pallet-Live Storage

Separate loading and unloading faces make this a good option for high density storage without block stacking pallets, while maintaining a good flow of products. This pallet racking installation works with two faces, a loading face and an off-loading face.

Push-Back Pallet Racking

Similar to drive in pallet racking, this option offers high density storage without block stacking, providing stacked pallets are no more than four deep.

Another FI-LO system. Like drive-in pallet racking in Manchester, this concept works with a single access face for loading and off-loading. Unlike drive-in, it can be off-loaded by level rather than by having to empty a full lane. This makes it ideal where space is tight but you still need relatively easy access to a range of goods.

Carpet Racking

We install several standard pallet racking bays back-to-back, then add a full-length chipboard base to help protect carpets and other rolled materials from snags. Use a counterbalance forklift with ‘boom’ attachment to pick rolls.

Double-Deep Pallet Racking

Like standard wide aisle pallet racking, but two standard bays increase storage capacity. Racks are arranged double-deep or back-to-back and accessed using forklift trucks with telescopic forks to enable them to reach the rear of the pallet. Ideal for Manchester warehouses with limited space and lots to store, providing you only have limited need to access rear pallets.

Coil Racking

Store coils face up, on a coil cradle (a form of hanger), or on a central spindle. The latter enables the coil not only to be stored but also to be used in situ.

Heavy Duty Pallet Racking

A wide aisle pallet racking system given extra load bearing capability through the use of structural U-beams. The additional strength enables bay loadings of around 20,000+kgs or loads per level in excess of 4,000kgs (depending on level dimensions).

Shuttle Racking

With a shuttle racking system in Manchester the forklift never enters the lane. Instead, a shuttle device runs beneath each pallet lane, bringing pallets to the front or rear of the pick face depending on your preference for FI-FO or FI-LO system. The higher the throughput of the system, the more shuttles you’ll need running at any one time.
