Mezzanine Flooring

How can adding a freestanding floor in your warehouse earn you more money?

How does installing a mezzanine floor in your Halifax warehouse boost profits?

It’s all a question of space. Right now, the earning potential of your warehouse is limited by its size. Once the existing floorspace is full, there’s nothing more you can do unless you extend the building or move premises.

But there may be a third option.

Add a mezzanine to your Halifax warehouse and you can dramatically increase the useable space by creating a brand new floor. And when you have more available space, you can use it to earn more money.

What is a mezzanine floor?

A mezzanine is a freestanding steel floor constructed within the existing building, accessed via stairs. You can still use the space beneath the mezzanine as well as the space on it.

What can I use my Halifax mezzanine for?

For whatever will help your business become more efficient or profitable!

The Halifax mezzanine floors we install are being used for storage, for production or fulfilment areas, and as training suites, IT hubs and admin areas.

How big can a mezzanine floor be?

Your Halifax mezzanine can be virtually any size (subject to the size limitations of the building in which it will be installed). Most mezzanines tend to be between a third and a half the size of the existing warehouse area, but that’s not a requirement.

You won’t need planning permission, which is another big advantage as it helps make installation much simpler and quicker. The new mezzanine will need to meet Building Regs and, depending on size, it may need to be fire rated. We can advise you about this when you talk to us.

I rent my warehouse – can I install a mezzanine?

We’ve installed lots of Halifax mezzanine floors in leased premises, so it’s certainly possible. To be sure, check your lease agreement as you may find there’s a requirement to inform or get the permission of your landlord.

The good news is that, as you’ll be increasing the value, usable area and versatility of the building, most landlords will be happy to say yes.
